Degree Details
BSc (4-yr):
A 4-year Bachelor of Science degree with a concentration in Wellness prepares students for a career in health-related professions. It also prepares students for entrance into graduate school.
BSc (3-yr):
A 3-year Bachelor of Science degree with a concentration in Wellness gives students current scientific information regarding a health-enhancing lifestyle. It can also serve as a foundation for continuing education in other health-related professions, including admission to the Doctor of Physical Therapy program.
BSc (4-yr): Pre Allied Health Lifestyle Medicine & Flourishing Track:
As the only undergraduate track of its kind in Canada, this program simultaneously provides prerequisites for professional schools as well as the study of the Pillars of Lifestyle Medicine and Flourishing. Lifestyle medicine is a medical specialty that uses therapeutic lifestyle interventions as a primary modality to treat chronic conditions and their causes. It incorporates six evidence-based pillars: a whole-food, plant-predominant eating pattern, physical activity, restorative sleep, stress management, avoidance of risky substances and positive social connections. Flourishing is a broad construct that involves experiences of thriving and abundance in physical, psychological, and spiritual domains of wellness. This track provides students a strong foundation in health education and psychology while also incorporating anatomy and physiology, physical education, nutrition, chemistry, and religious studies.
