Through the variety of topics and classes in the behavioural science program, I was able to build a passion for helping and understanding people. I learned problem solving, clinical reasoning and relational skills. It also enabled me to build strong connections in the community, which led to various positions and opportunities. After completing this degree, I was accepted into a Master’s of Occupational Therapy program. It was the collective experiences from Burman and my Master’s program that enabled me to discover my passion to work as an Occupational Therapist with a variety of people in various capacities including the hospital, home, clinic, school, and long-term care facilities. My teachers, friends, and mentorship experiences have not only shaped my practice as an occupational therapist but also my spiritual walk with God.
